Thanks to an incredible act of generosity, Gateway has been given 500 free tickets to see Eclipsed at The Curran Theater on Thursday, March 9th.
The Curran Theater and its leader, Carole Shorenstein Hays, would like to invite the entire Gateway community to attend.
While the play is not light entertainment, it is a tribute to the power of resistance, women, and resilience in the face of oppression. Eclipsed tells the story of five women brought together during the Civil War in Liberia. It chronicles the violence they endured and the community they built to resist it.
Please note, the content may seem a bit mature (and frightening) for many middle school students unless they are properly warned and supported. Check out the The New York Times to learn more.
Gateway community members are encouraged to invite friends and families to attend! Information about how to order tickets (for free!) is below.
