Sharon Olken Farewell Events

After 22 years with Gateway, this is Sharon Olken's last school year as our beloved executive director. Join us for one of several intimate gatherings to celebrate Sharon and to learn more about her big dreams for Gateway beyond her departure.
Matters of the Mind Luncheon

Every year, our Matters of the Mind event brings leaders who are changing the world to Gateway, each with a different perspective on the social issues that make our shared work to educate the next generation so very important. For 2022, we were delighted to welcome comedian, TV host, author, and documentarian W. Kamau Bell, along with author and educator Kate Schatz, who have partnered to create the new book Do the Work: An Antiracist Activity Book. Together, our community raised over $300,000 for our students and teachers!
Raise a Glass for Gateway!

This new Gateway tradition started in October 2022 as friends of Gateway came out to City Beer Store for a night of beer tasting and tamales! Even better, they raised over $5,000 for things like college counseling, student internships, professional development, and many more of the programs and offerings that make Gateway such an incredible place to learn and work.
