We Need You!

volunteer at gateway

Volunteers play an important role in Gateway Public Schools. Each day, family members, local college students, and individuals or groups from the community bring fresh perspectives, enthusiasm, and patience into our schools while assisting teachers, staff, and students.

Additionally, these volunteers experience a sense of fulfillment and pride in helping to improve our schools for everyone in the community. It is a circle of giving that we work to foster in our students, too.

Be Part of Something Extraordinary

We currently need assistance in four major areas: academic support and enrichment, college access, career exploration, and organizational support.

Academic support and enrichment volunteers assist teachers in the classroom, tutor students, serve as graders for academic portfolios, and mentor our STEAM programs.

College access volunteers assist students with the college application process, reach out to college admission officers on behalf of our students, and research and compile scholarship opportunities.

Career Exploration

Career exploration volunteers provide students with internship, job shadowing, and office visit opportunities. Career exploration volunteers can also serve as speakers during career day or our ongoing speaker series for students, Pizza and Possibilities.

Our organizational support volunteers can serve as board advisors on our various board committees, provide administrative assistance, create beautiful learning spaces for our students, or participate in special events and fundraisers at Gateway.
