Jake Welch

Jake Welch is a partner at ValueAct Capital, a San Francisco-based investment firm that he joined in 2009. At ValueAct, Jake sources and maintains a range of global investments and currently serves on the board of LKQ Corporation. Prior to joining ValueAct in 2009, Jake worked in private equity at the Blackstone Group. He and his wife live in San Francisco with their three young children and are passionate about education, homelessness, and youth mental health. Jake serves as deputy board chair of SLS preschool and was inspired to support Gateway’s mission by meeting the outstanding students and teachers at several Matters of the Mind events. Jake graduated from a small public school in Buena Vista, Georgia, has a B.A., cum laude, from Harvard College and is a CFA charterholder. In his free time, Jake can be found on the tennis court.
