After a morning filled with laughter, tears, and more than a little confetti, we bid Gateway High School’s 18th graduating class a fond farewell Saturday, June 8. June is always a bittersweet time for our school community, but we are overjoyed that this senior class boasts a 100 percent graduation rate -- a rare distinction for public schools and the realization of Gateway’s promise to students and families.
Moreover, 97.5 percent of these remarkable seniors have been accepted to college, and are headed to some of the country’s most prestigious institutions next fall - including all eight UC campuses with undergraduate programs and each of the 23 CSUs. The significance of this achievement cannot be overstated. We are confident that the campuses and academic programs our graduates choose will benefit tremendously from their skills and perspective for many years to come.
And if that weren’t enough to celebrate, our seniors’ hard work and dedication have earned them some pretty incredible scholarships, as well, among them a Posse Foundation Scholarship, a Meritus Scholarship, and several SF Achievers and Maisin Scholar Awards.
Below is a list of our seniors’ confirmed college acceptances to date -- 112 campuses in all. Congratulations to our newly-minted alumni -- we can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!
