Brennan Bird (he/him)

Brennan is very excited to be part of the Gateway community as a Gardening & Horticulture and 9th Grade Seminar teacher. He was raised in Palo Alto, CA and attended an incredible public elementary school with a quarter-acre organic farm. He earned his BA at UC Davis with a major in Nature & Culture, an interdisciplinary arts and sciences major. While in college he worked at the UC Davis Student Farm, guided wilderness backpacking trips, and lived in a cooperative community on three acres of food forest gardens. For the past 15 years Brennan has taught classes and workshops on ecological gardening, permaculture design, natural building, rainwater harvesting, and appropriate ecological technology. In his free time he rock climbs, makes music, rides his BMX bike, and explores the great outdoors.
