Why we Fundraise at Gateway

Fundraising at Gateway

As the families of our young people, you know more than anyone else how important it is for every student to have a high quality education, a safe space to learn and grow, and incredible teachers to encourage and support them.

Gateway’s annual budget is nearly $10 million to operate both schools, and primarily funded by the State’s annual funding rate per student for public schools. Through special events, grants, and donations from the community and our families, Gateway raises additional funds to sustain the programs and services necessary to open doors to our students’ future and prepare them to be the leaders, innovators, and scholars of tomorrow.

Family Fundraising Opportunities

The Gateway Annual Fund

The Gateway Annual Fund provides necessary funds to fulfill our mission each and every year: working to develop character, foster community, and promote excellence in each of our students. With your gift, we can reach our goal of raising $120,000 for the Annual Fund.

What Your Contributions Support

FOR STUDENTS

  • Small class sizes ensure your student is supported at Gateway and faculty advisor is paired with your student to guide them through the school experience.
  • A rigorous college preparatory course load, college campus visits, and college counseling for your college bound student.
  • Gateway’s Learning Center provides support for your student through small group instruction, intensive reading classes, assistive technology, and more.

FOR TEACHERS

  • Your student's teachers collaborate with their colleagues to plan curriculum, assess student learning, and develop strategies for increasing student success. All teachers participate in on-site professional development, totaling more than 150 hours each year.
  • Gateway will increase teacher salaries 25-30% over the course of five years in order for your student's teachers to afford to live and work in the  Bay Area.
