Kiana González Montañez (she/her)

Originally from San Diego and Tijuana, Kiana has always been passionate about the connections between language, culture, and community. She earned her bachelor's degree in Spanish Literature and Linguistics from Occidental College and her Master's in Education from Stanford University. Before teaching she worked with Casa del Migrante in Tijuana, supporting children's education and wellness, and published research on the educational experiences of newcomer students in the United States. In her classroom, she strives to foster cultural appreciation through language learning, helping students develop empathy, curiosity, and meaningful connections with others and the world around them. In her free time, you can find her hiking, working on one too many crafting projects, or cooking delicious meals for family and friends.
