SUPPORT GATEWAY!
Why We Fundraise
As a public charter school, Gateway is primarily funded by the State. In order for each student to receive a truly life-changing education, we raise additional funds through special events, grants, and donations from our community.
Together, Gateway Middle and Gateway High run on an operating budget of $10 million. As public charter schools, Gateway receives $8 million in state funding based on enrollment and attendance to support students, teachers, and general operation costs. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Gateway Public Schools fundraises the remaining $2 million of the budget to provide intensive on-campus student supports, to recruit, compensate and retain excellent teachers, and to lower access barriers and close opportunity gaps for Gateway students.
