Maxine Wilson
Maxine Wilson serves as Chief Operating Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF), where she leads the organization’s day-to-day operations with a focus on excellence, accountability, and mission-driven impact. She is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of BGCSF’s strategic priorities and long-term vision. Known for her collaborative and results-oriented leadership style, Maxine fosters a high-performance culture that promotes transparency, alignment, and innovation.
A passionate advocate for youth, Maxine has dedicated her entire career to advancing opportunities for young people, particularly those facing systemic barriers. She began her professional journey as a youth development practitioner in Houston, Chicago, and Atlanta before joining Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco in 2002.
In her current role, Maxine oversees a broad portfolio that includes Human Resources, Information Technology, Outcomes Measurement, Facilities, Risk Management, Safety, Training, Program Services, and Finance. This wide-ranging scope has given her a deep understanding of nonprofit operations and organizational governance, equipping her to support strong systems, fiscal stewardship, and youth-centered outcomes.
Maxine holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Lamar University and a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco. She is also an active member of the Contra Costa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Through her professional leadership and community service, Maxine brings a steadfast commitment to equity, excellence, and the success of the next generation.
