The Community's Role in Public Education

Community at Gateway

All public school students deserve the opportunity to gain real-world exposure, connect with mentors, and participate in experiences that encourage them to dream big.

The community plays an incredibly powerful role in helping these students fulfill their dreams and acquire the necessary skills for a bright future.

As a member of the community, you can change the life trajectory of a student by helping them find academic success, self-confidence, and opportunities to stretch, imagine, create, and connect.

Building Bright Futures

Together, we can build a bright future for our city and its young people.
Take action now to make a difference in your community.

Volunteer

By volunteering, you join a community of like-minded, passionate people who want to make a difference in our city by supporting public education.  Volunteers are needed in three major areas: academic support, college access, and career exploration.

Through the generous support of its community, Gateway will continue to be the kind of public charter school its founders intended: a school that provides a gateway to college for all students regardless of race, income or learning style.

Visit

This is where I want to highlight the one time/less commitment opps like grading a humanities portfolio, gardening work day, career day etc. but I'm not sure if it's overkill to have this along with the first volunteer CTA. I also don't know where to direct people on our site to find these opportunities besides the calendar.
