Byron Beaman (he/him)
Byron was born and raised in Boston, MA (Mattapan to be exact). He has dedicated his life to educating young people formally and informally. He has been a keynote speaker, presenter, workshop facilitator, panelist and moderator at local/national conferences. He is a practitioner of Restorative Practices, Sankofa facilitator/trainer and a Hip Hop Educator. He has worked closely with the Hip Hop EX Lab at the Harvard Graduate School of Education to promote Hip Hop Education in K-12 and Higher Education spaces. He was appointed to the City of Boston Scholarship Committee by then Mayor Thomas Menino and served 15 years in that role. He has won numerous awards for his work in education and the community. He has been a youth and high school football coach for 23 years. He has been recognized as One of the Most Stylish People in Boston. In his spare time he enjoys reading, bike riding, spending time with family, art museums and documentaries. "I colored outside the lines”
