Yingshi Liang (she/her)
Ms. Liang developed a strong interest in environmental science during her undergraduate studies, where she participated in student activism and worked with non-profit organizations advocating for environmental protection. She earned her B.A. in Anthropology from University of California, Santa Cruz, bringing a humanizing education perspective to science learning.
Before joining Gateway Middle School, Ms. Liang worked as a science instructor in summer camps, leading hands-on, project-based learning experiences, and later taught as a STEAM instructor for 5th grade students in Oakland Unified School District and a 4th Grade Teacher in San Francisco Unified School District. She is especially looking forward to collaborating with colleagues and engaging students in meaningful, inquiry-driven science learning. Outside the classroom, she enjoys exploring cafés around San Francisco, cooking and traveling.
